cranky pants

it's saturday morning and i am sitting at work ready to throw my laptop at the wall, on the floor, down the fire escape - any hard surface will do, really. but then, what would i blog on?

apparently there is no better place to be bright and early saturday morning. work is crazy-f**kin'-stupid busy at the moment, so 7am this morning i crankily haul ass outta bed and here i am. but goddamnit our whole network is down so i cant do anything!

i'm gonna go kill someone.

actually no, i'm gonna go play in the sunshine *smile*

but before i do, let me share with you my pride and joy from last weekend. i made curry puffs from scratch, all 64 of them, and they were yummmmm!!

most funnest day!

today has been one of the most funnest (which, ofcourse is a word) day I've had in a while, hence the need to post before the day is even over! *heHe* we did so much it felt like 3 weekends crammed into one, but this is how i like it ~ good food, good friends, and good cuddles at the end of the day *awww*... *puke*

the day started early with a wake up call from Jade. she was in town for a Weiss Bar conference (i wanted to partake in the eating of ice creams too, but apparently that didn't actually happen) so we met up for breakfast before her long and painful (nursing a hangover) flight back to perth. it was incredible seeing Jade again ~ she's the closest thing i've ever had to a sister, plus she's Gizmo's other mama, so that bonds us more than blood ties ever will! ironically, i hadn't seen Jade in over 4 years and was so looking forward to my trip to Perth next month and seeing her but here is she, one month premature but who's complaining?

after breakfast, panu and i caught a bus through Darlinghurst to Paddington and strolled back to the city down Oxford Street, browsing through the many swanky mostly unaffordable boutiques and stopping for a sugar hit at none other than Max Brenner's. Bald or not, that man makes some mean chocolate treats!

heaven delivered in the cutest "hugmug". what more could one ask for?

we strolled leisurely from Paddington into the city where i treated myself to a new pair of Cellini silver flat sandals. i know i'll probably start an uproar over this comment but i do not remember the last time i bought a pair of shoes, so i was on cloud nine with my purchase and floated all the way to Cupcakes on Pitt. Yes, i know, i should have been all sugared out but Max Brenner left me wanting more! It is the weekend after all, when is there a better time to sin? *wink*

after leaving the city, panu and i met up with the usual suspects at the Surry Hills Festival, which seems to go from strength to strength every year. we found a spot near the beats stage, spreadout some sarongs and ate, drank and were merry...

the festival wrapped up at 6.30pm, leaving us the evening free still to do more! We drove past Hyde Park hoping that the night noodle markets were on, but unfortunately they weren't. so we headed home, i made sushi, and we settled down for the night with a dvd ~ Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

what a sh*t movie. but it didn't ruin my day. now ready for bed, i look back on today and am so satisfied. g'nite!

walking...

in celebration of the glorious weather we've been having the last couple of weeks, panu and i have taken to walking to and from work a couple of times a week. we do a 4.6km trek down Pacific Highway, over the Harbour Bridge and into the city:

it's the most simplest of pleasures that i find we always take for granted. being on the bridge every. single. day. one of australia's most famous icons and to me its nothing more than another footpath packed with people! i do try and stop though, and take in the breeze and the view and the enormity of it all.

speaking of walks on sunny days, remember this?

we went in search of this crazy hedge a couple of weeks ago... found it. nothing terribly exciting...

the fact that it's in our National Botanic Gardens and that it says that still baffles the heck outta me tho!

highlights of an incredible fortnight...

the past two weeks have whizzed past in a whirl of socialising, sunshine and frothy frappes... many many highlights, very few lowlights... so i'm a happy camper *grin*

... panu came back from el paso bearing with him many gifts, among them pair of cowboy (girl?) boots for me! the real deal from texas. this is like saying i have a kimono from japan... so cool!

i love, love , love them! he picked the right size and a funky design, all by himself. i'm so proud *awwwww*

... 3 days later Stef & Ian tied the knot in one of the biggest weddings I've been to ~ 450 guests in the Grand Ballroom at the Westin. It really doesn't get much classier than that.

Needless to say, Stef was breathlessly stunning. Me, i had my hair pinned back which to me is like being naked, so i felt self conscious all night. But don't worry it didnt stop me from having a great time, especially at the Crystal Bar after party!

... and then there were the days of sunshine when panu and i wandered around kirribilli, enjoying the views, our ice creams and soaking in the rays... sydney is just stunning. why am i leaving this for gloomy london again?

... and last but not least, i am the proud mama of a brand new baby iPod nano! It is the sexiest little bugger since the invention of french knickers and i just cant get enough! i'm willing the hours at work away just so i can go home and hang out with my little cPod *yay*

in other news, it is now officially 16 weeks til take off ~ who's counting? ~ and i am so impatient!

have a superb weekend, my lovelies!
